White House Launches Trump TV
The new line comes amid a dispute over journalists' access to presidential events.
The White House has launched the 24-hour TV: The Essentials Station YouTube channel, which broadcasts selected positive material for President Donald Trump.
The new channel emerges amid a sharp dispute between the administration and part of the US media over access to presidential events. The White House has previously restricted the presence of CNN reporters, MS NOW and Politico, and Trump accused them of spreading "fake news."
The three media outlets challenged the decision and said in a common position: “The government does not decide what the press reports or publishes.”
Reuters also said the five major U.S. television networks had announced a boycott of events involving Trump in solidarity with the blocked reporters.
With this, the controversy surrounding media access to the White House is already extending not only to the accreditations and presence of journalists, but also to the way the administration presents its public appearances to the audience.
